RoboSub 2015 The 18th RoboSub Competition took place at the SSC Pacific TRANSDEC facility in San Diego, CA. With 37 teams representing Canada, China, India, Japan, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey and the United States of America.

RoboSub teams gather once a year with one mission in mind: demonstrate autonomy with their Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) through various tasks mimicking behaviors required of AUVs to operate successfully in the real world. RoboSub is an international competition that invites participants to tackle simplified versions of challenges facing the underwater maritime industry. These challenges may include oceanographic exploration and mapping, detection and manipulation of objects, and pipeline identification and tracking. The RoboSub competition is an annual week-long marathon at the US Navy's TRANSDEC Terminal in San Diego, California. Submarines traverse a randomized objective course, with challenges revolving around core aspects of naval robotics such as course navigation, obstacle identification, and object manipulation.
